Dandy, The leather Anthony Delon 1985, AS A SECOND SKIN !
“I can make concessions with others, but not with me.” It is by this phrase that Anthony Delon – who wrote the text himself – launches the press kit presenting the brand Anthony Delon 1985. A very “delonian” phrase in itself, which presents rather faithfully the boy, but for having already had the opportunity to work with him, we know that even with others, Anthony Delon does not laugh with work and is not inclined to concessions, with anyone.

Also as regards its brand of leather, it is easy to understand that it is particularly demanding. Only the oldest will remember that thirty years ago already, the young Anthony had launched his eponymous brand, and we imagined at the time that the people who financed it did not entrust to a young man of twenty the responsibility of the latter beyond style and image. A glimpse of history: more than a quarter of a century later it is the rebirth of the claw that allows us today to learn the modus operandi of the time. Because meanwhile the man has aged – even if for some mysterious reason, the years do not seem to have the same grip on his face as on ours – and today would leave no one to decide for him of a point touching his image. And leather is part of it since adolescence. It’s even a real passion, which explains why the resurrection of the brand that bears his name is so dear to him and that he has invested himself in it so that the pieces are of superior quality and that each one of them between them, just like what he likes. “A man chic and virile, a woman sensual and independent”: that’s the fundamentals. When it comes to quality, our loyal readers know how much attention we pay to them, and that our technical isopagus does not have the reputation of being tender with the products “powder in the eyes”.
The jacket we observed in its smallest details was unanimous: a very nice piece, also very well placed in price. Which act. But that does not prevent us from returning to the genesis of the second life of the brand. A dozen models and twenty pieces. Respectively 9 and 18 to be precise. Seven for men and two for women. This is the first ever Anthony Delon collection, presented in March and on sale in mid-April. First remark when discovering the different pieces: the modernity of the cuts and the quality of the skins. No classic skin parka or bomber here, but body-hugging jackets, soft leathers and creamy Nubucks. The expression of passion rather than the marketing approach: a good point. A young and clearly upscale collection. It remains to know the price of the different pieces and judge for ourselves if the rowing is at the height of the plumage. Anthony Delon accepts the principle of a close-up without hesitation (another good point a priori), and we agree to meet again a week later to enter further into the universe and spirit of the brand.
